At first it was considered that they are lovers in the beta version of the game while making ff7.
But completely changed their minds at the end of the game and give it a new script for the final version of the game. I think I heard that Zack was supposed to be the main character in ff7 as a detective but scratched that out completely.
Even in the final version of the game you can't help shake the feeling that they are connected somehow. Despite the lack of meeting each other at all except for the part where he killed her.
Yeah, it is a shame it's not canon... They look so nice together. And I'm really happy to see some AeriSeph going on. Even if my expression doesn't show it considering I just woke up and haven't had the time to get any caffeine into my system. But yeah, three cheers for AeriSeph!
Aw,Aerith and Sephiroth the love that could have been.I always felt in the original game that Aerith and Sephiroth have so much connected to each other but they have never personally known each other.I think it would have been stronger if at one time that both did have a personal relationship.I always like the idea they could have kept Zack as her first love and Sephiroth still would have bought flowers from her which would have made him secretly grow to have feelings for her but hid them out of respect for her relationship with Zack.
They would have been AMAZING TOGETHER! My ridiculous OTP love makes me work on that comic! And Zack is still adorable, but yes, I think Sephiroth would have definitely loved her. In Crisis Core, he tells Zack to return to Midgar because Genesis copies showed up. He implies that Zack needs to protect Aeris. Question -- how did Sephiroth know about Aeris?! I'm pretty sure Zack never told him about her. Ah, the fanfic/comic potential there for an alternate meeting for Aeriseph is overwhelming!
