Doctor Hojo by DrAssenov Doctor Hojo by DrAssenov
This probably happened to Sephiroth often. Needless to say, he doesn't look very comfortable on that bed...

Dr. Hojo was most likely the only doctor that attended to Sephiroth.

From mako treatments to suturing up battle wounds, Dr. Hojo was probably there, silently working on his most prized lab experiment, and unbeknownst to his patient, his own offspring…

disclaimer: I don't own FFVII or its characters

Ultimania Omega wrote:***Vincent's anger*** (Page 198)
If Vincent is in the party when they go to the Mako Cannon's controls, during
the conversation with Hojo, Vincent will have a reaction. To Hojo, his wife
was nothing more than laboratory material to bear his son, Sephiroth, who --
as he says -- was something for him to study and satisfy his scientific
desires; [this brings on] Vincent's wrath. Additionally, after Hojo has been
killed, each party member express a line, including Vincent, who is noticably
deeply emotional.

I know the Ultimanias are not exported to other countries but they tell a great detail about things in the games.

Also this shows that Hojo really isn't sympathetic at all and doesn't really care about his son as a person because all Sephiroth was to him was an experiment that he could study and one he could use for his scientific curiosities.Hojo is an abusive parent who doesn't regret treating his son's life like a science project.

Well, Sephiroth absolutely hated Hojo and looked down on him, and would have left him for dead (in Crisis Core). Now, why would Hojo express affection for someone who would probably just stab him in the heart and scoff? And of course he says this to Vincent. Hojo might not have wanted Vincent to believe that he cared about Lucrecia, and that he was angered because she had an affair with Vincent.

Ah, I wonder if Hojo always felt that emotionless, or became that way over time... thanks for the info!
